Welcome back to our lovely Disney Blog!!!! I love doing this and keeping a journal of our week because if you ask me what we did 2 days after we get back, I may not remember.... Probably because our vacation started at 5:30 AM this morning.... Have you ever seen such happy kids this early in the morning? You know it's early because Evan is actually sitting down....
We got to take a brand new Southwest Boeing 737-800 - only two months old, and it was SWEET! Mood lightning, more headroom than I've ever seen and still had new plane smell. Ally sat next to me - she was a nervous wreck, as you can see if you look closely at this selfie...
Evan sat in the row ahead of us between Betty & Arthur. I heard I had the calmer ride of the two kids. I agree - having her hold on to me anxiously was easier than dealing this this:
I think they loved the tram to get our luggage more than anything. And Ally finally relaxed - you can see it in her face!We landed a little early and our house wasn't ready yet. So we headed over to Downtown Disney to kill some time. Ally lost her mind as soon as we saw the sign!
Downtown Disney is a hot mess. Seriously. They are doing construction to fix the parking situation, so the only parking is a swanky new parking garage waaaaaaaaaaay down one end of the strip. Swanky because they have magic eyes that detect which parking spaces are full. Each row will tell you how many empty spaces are in that row and the magic eye glows green over the available spaces - definitely cool technology. (you can tell it's the first day when I write a paragraph about the parking garage....)
And can I just say that I love how they still like to hold hands? (awwww......)
Until Evan found the raised planters to jump on. Can you tell he was excited?
Our first stop was the Lego Store. We could have spent HOURS here, and it's not even that big of a store.....
Evan wanted his picture taken with EVERY. SINGLE. AVENGER. STICKER.
I'm sparing you, but seriously EVERY. STUPID. ONE....
The Hulk was by far my favorite full size guy. I wanted to bring him home. So did the kids....
Seriously, how cool is this????
There is a new ride in the Magic Kingdom based on the Seven Dwarfs. I suspect that's why there is a lot of Snow White references everywhere....
We went to lunch at the kids favorite restaurants - T-Rex. It's a dinosaur themed restaurant owned by the Rain forest Cafe if that tells you what kind of crazyness we were in for...
But the food is good and it's hard not to enjoy this kind of atmosphere!
Afterward, we started to crash. Much more laid back day for us than I expect for the rest of the week. We checked into our vacation house - a 4 bedroom house with a pool about 10 minutes outside of Disney. The kids LOVE this place - and they each have their own room which is very cool.
We spent most of the afternoon in the pool - because hey, it's Florida. I even remembered to bring pool toys, so they will be back in here a lot, I'm sure.
We have friends visiting tonight (cool when you know other people on vacation too!) so the night is being cut short, but tomorrow - Hollywood Studios!
