Episode V: The Plague Strikes Back...

The day started like any other day - this one was at the Animal Kingdom.  We didn't plan on staying all day because for most of us, this is our least favorite park.  We started out with two happy, although quite tired, kids.
First order of business was breakfast reservations at the Rainforest Cafe.  The kids were excited to go to the only Rainforest Cafe that actually serves breakfast.
Still getting thumbs up and everything from my buddy....  But he started complaining that he was really cold.  And whining.  And me, being the stellar in-tune mother that I am, immediately barked at him to get over it.  *winning*
Breakfast was pretty good, but Evan wouldn't eat.  Still complaining that he was cold, he went to snuggle on Grampy's lap to eat and I realized he was under a vent where he had been sitting.  So sorry, buddy.  So now that you've moved, eat up so we can do stuff!
While he stared at his food, Ally and I went to the gift shop.  Like the flower?
It was sprinkling a little after breakfast so we walked quickly into the park.  We had a fast pass for Everest and Ally had been waiting all week to go on it.  I did get a quick pic in front of the Tree of Life, but it was hard because the park was fairly crowded.
Better pic of the tree up closer, but couldn't get the kids in this one.... oh well.
On our way to Everest, you get a good view of the mountain before you get there.  It's pretty, but there is quite a bit of construction going on in the park so it's hard to see it as well as you usually can, and all the barriers up blocked the breeze so it was stifling.
Nana, Grampy and Evan decided not to go on the ride, so Ally, Arron and I went ahead.  Ally was vibrating she was so excited - can't you tell!?
She sat with me on the ride, and I think it's mostly because she likes how anxious I get....
 Arron was behind us.
This ride is high.  Like very high.  But you get a cool view of the park on the way up, or at least a portion of the park and all the tracks you are about to end up on....
On the way down.....  She never stopped smiling the whole time!
And afterward.  Nice hair, honey!  True mark of a good roller coaster!
We met up with the group and Evan was still complaining of being cold.  This shocked me - it was humid and about 90 degrees out?!  That's when we figured out he had a fever.  :(  We high tailed it out of the park, and he was a real trooper walking the whole way.  I suddenly felt REALLY guilty and couldn't get home fast enough.  Once back at the house, he jumped into his pj's, took some Motrin, and curled up with me to take a nap.
I felt terrible, so I held him until he fell asleep.  He took a good 2-3 hour nap, and when he woke up he seemed to be better.  He didn't have a fever now but it was hard to tell if it was from the Motrin or not.  We decided to take a chance (knowing we might just be turning around) and headed back into the Magic Kingdom.  Nana and Grampy had left to walk Epcot for the day so we were going to join them at the transportation center.  When we got there, Evan said he didn't feel well again.  :(  Since Nana and Grampy were going to head home anyway, they took Evan back to the house and while the 3 of us continued onward to get the kids their Sorcerer's cards at the Magic Kingdom.  There were definitely less people going in to the park - we had a whole monorail car to ourselves for a bit!
This time the place was open and we got the cards for the kids!  Finally....
I was ready to run home to see my boy but Nana texted me that he was doing ok and Ally was dying to do a few more rides.  Ok, I'll go....  We jumped on the Jungle Cruise because it was 1) tame and 2) Ally had never actually done the ride or at least didn't remember.
Funny we left the Animal Kingdom this morning before seeing any real animals so we could later come and take pictures of fake ones.... But the ride is funny and she was old enough to catch the humor so that made it a lot of fun.
Next she talked me into Thunder Mountain.  I'm not a huge fan of roller coasters.  I mean, they are ok and all, but when I'm tired it isn't the first thing I want to do...  And the wait was about 40 minutes and hot which didn't help either.  Although we did like reading all the stuff in line.  Notice the third name down - "Buckaroo Burke"!
Ally threatening to blow up the train....
Right before you get on the train, you have a chance to get a pretty good view of what you are about to step on to!
This ride is less giant drops and more tiny hills and bumps...  I think I would rather have a big drop of two...  I didn't feel great after this ride, but as you can see, Ally loved it just fine....
But that did me in for the night.  Shortly after I got a call that Evan's fever was back and he was sad so we hightailed it home (as fast as you can from Disney anyway) and I curled up with my buddy for the night.  His fever broke around 11 PM but I still checked him every hour or so all night, making sure he was ok.  I didn't bring a thermometer to measure, but he was REALLY hot and that always makes me nervous.  Thankfully he woke up fever free, although a bit exhausted.  I'll get on to the next day momentarily....
