See Ya Real Soon!

Oh, the last day.  Forgive me for not getting this up right away, but we had to pack.  I was hoping to finish this on the plane, but I was somehow having technical difficulties (which I still don't know how I fixed - leftover Disney Magic!?!)  So my favorite picture of the whole vacation came from the last day, riding the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.
We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom to finish the Sorcerer's mission and to ride the Barnstormer.  After that, anything goes!  I thought for sure we would park hop, but we ended up staying put until well after 7 PM!  Here are the kids working on their "mission".  Did I already explain this?  I don't even remember.... I'm so tired I almost feel tipsy!  Ok, just in case (btw, if I did already explain this, skip down to the pretty picture and ignore my rambling...)  The Magic Kingdom has 4 different sorcerer "missions" that the kids can go on.  You have a map and are in search for "portals" that you open with a "key" (which is just a card).  Every day in the park you can collect another pack of cards per park ticket - so Betty and Arthur got cards as well.  They have been making up their own games with them ever since, so this was a HUGE hit.
After finishing the mission on Main Street, we hopped on the train to ride over to the Barnstormer and Dumbo.  Seriously, the boy's favorite ride is Dumbo?  I hate that ride - it is short and spinney and has the longest line next to Peter Pan (which is also short and dumb).  Oh well, it's what he loves.  And we used it as a bribe to get him on the Barnstormer!  At least we knew he would like the train ride.
First stop - The Great Goofini's Barnstormer.  We used to always do this first because it is the shortest roller coaster ever.  Great way to test if someone likes roller coasters or not.  We should have done it the first time in the MK but that day was just a mess....  And I suspected Evan was going to hate it, but at this point we didn't care anymore.  It was always Ally's favorite, so we mostly rode it for her.
Evan rode with me - and this is his look of fear as we left the station.
Everyone else was behind us - I was snapping pictures over my shoulder during the ride and I caught this shot - one of my favorite EVER!  That's Arthur and Arron in the back, Betty and Ally screaming their heads off.  :)
Evan didn't really like it, but he didn't hate it as passionately as before.  We got the "I'm never gonna ride that again" but with less enthusiasm.  Could he be coming around?  As a thank-you-for-sucking-it-up-kiddo, we went next door to Dumbo.  He never stopped jumping.  Even in this picture, notice his feet aren't on the ground.....
Hey Evan, do you really want to ride Dumbo?  It's almost our turn!
I had him ride with Daddy - Ally and I needed some together time.  She's been so wonderful and fun this whole trip.  8 is definately the best Disney age ever....  So anyway,  Evan was driving the elephant (I like how that sounds....) and Evan likes to go the opposite way of us.
When we got off, Ally begged him to go one more time on the Barnstormer - and he said YES!   Woah, really?  This time Ally rode with me.  :)  Can you get happier than this?
Evan got to ride with his "buddy".  He actually looks like he is enjoying himself!!!!!
AND THEN he told us he would RIDE IT AGAIN!!!!  Holy progress!  It only took 6 days to get there!!!  Instead of riding it again, we wanted to hit a few more areas.  Once Ally saw Merida (from the new movie Brave) was around for autographs, she made us stop.  They have merchandise from the movie for sale at a cart here that is ONLY available here.  We saw this before, and Evan begged us to get him a bow and arrow.  Since both kids had their own money to spend we told him we would come back later (mostly hoping he would forget).  That kid's mind is like a steel trap.  He never forgets anything.  So 4 or 5 days later (and after searching every freakin' park) he sees the bow and arrow and goes nuts.... I didn't want to hear about the trip where we didn't get him the bow and arrow for the next 5 years so we let him get it but had it shipped to the front because who wants to lug that around?  Poor boy lost his mind.... so while Ally and I waited to see Merida, the boys went to lunch.  It was worth it - she was so sweet and Ally was in heaven.
Oh the gift shops.... so much shopping, so little time.  Ally decked out as her other favorite princess, Rapunzel.
Finally we got over to Frontier Land.  Right near my favorite ride!  Come on kids, it's only a 20 minute wait!
Both kids were so not thrilled with me.  But they were troopers - they both went on it!
Did you notice the tombstone in the back?  Her eyes would open and look around every few minutes - not helping me sell the ride to the little ones!
Evan ended up being fine - he played my iphone the whole time and wasn't scared a bit!  I could hear Ally whimpering from Arron's car behind me but for the most part she was ok.  She got over it partially because the ride stopped like 4 times and after just sitting there for a bit it's not so scary.  We then decided to get fast passes for us 3 for Splash Mountain.  I was SHOCKED that Evan was tall enough to go!
So we got him a fast pass too, just in case.  We had almost 2 hours to kill, so we went to Tomorrowland to ride Buzz Lightyear again.  The ride operator - his name was Andy!  I asked him if it was really Andy and Evan then said "For real?"  It was hilarious - so we took his picture.
I got my best score ever and no picture!  It's so wrong....  So next was up to the people mover - no line and all and the kids for some odd reason LOVE this ride.  Uh, ok....
This whole vacation they were so sweet to each other.  Makes me so happy!
Somewhere in there, we told Evan that the Astro Orbiter was just like the Dumbo ride but up high.  Why we told him this, I don't know but it had all the Dumbo markings - long line, spinny and overrated.  But we did it anyway....
Should have known not to let him drive.....
I was sooooo dizzy after that....  I need to remember to re-read this blog before I go again...  We met up with my in laws again and did Buzz Lightyear.... again.  Evan loved this one, so none of us minded.  I even threw them in "jail" at the end!
Time to head back to Splash Mountain.  And Evan wanted to ride?????   What?????
We thought he was crazy.  But we went with it.
Aren't they adorable sitting behind me?
And terrified sitting next to me....
After that ride, he HATED it and cried when he got wet.  But before we were out of Frontier Land, he thought it wasn't so bad and by Pixie Hollow, he was up to going again!  We did get him to come around!    But by Pixie Hollow, it was all I could stand to do to wait for fairy autographs.  First Terrence (and Evan wouldn't go near him....)
 And of course Tinkerbell.
Then I get a text from Betty saying "get me a picture in front of the castle, ok?"...  I thought we were never going to leave!  But I'm glad she made me do it - this is probably going to be my christmas card!
We finally left around 7.  One last trip to the pool and that was it for this vacation!  Thanks for coming along with us - see you at home!!!
