Welcome to the Hollywood studios! First selfie of the day because if it wasn't for selfies I wouldn't even be in this vacation....

I love that everything is still decked out for Christmas!
Both kids wanted to try Jedi training. It meant we skipped the Rockin' Roller coaster because you need to go sign up across the park immediately. We have tried to do this before but the force has not been with us - until today!
While waiting in line to sign up, Evan tried to tease Ally with a snake. She didn't flinch...
Until he threw a spider at her. It was fake and rubber and she wouldn't go near it. I told her if she didn't pick it I would BUY it. Under protest she picked it up without touching the scary plastic.... Seriously?
Evan looks so cool as Indiana Jones....
Once signed up, we had a while to wait until this afternoon so we went on the Great Movie Ride.
We were on this ride recently but apparently in the short time in between trips they refurbished the whole thing including the new waiting area movie, the now digital movie posters in the waiting area, and a new sponsor - TCM.
The ride had Robert Duval narrate it now which seemed to make the guide that still rides along a bit unnecessary... But still a favorite. This was at the exit since part of the ride is supposed to be Mann's Chinese theater.
Muppet vision had no wait so we went there next. It's silly but I still love the muppets.
Phinneas and Ferb was waiting just for us at the exit. We love them! Finally someone who got Evan's thumbs up! We got a quick photo and headed for our Star Tours fast pass. And here's what an evacuation looks like. The ride was stopped once while we were in line but they had it up and running again. We were in the cue to be the next ones on when an imagineer came in and yelled "Shut it all down NOW." Explains why all the staff was so nervous! So they took us back with all the lights on and gave us a fast pass to use later.
We had one more pass for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid only because they group the reservations by 3's. I always thought having this one was dumb because it's just a show but when it came time to use it I was so happy we had it. We only had a little time left before Jedi training and had we waited in line we would've missed it altogether.
The first thing Evan pointed out to me was the people dressed in black manipulating the puppets in the background. It's a little sad that for this trip so much of the magic is gone for him. It's cool to watch him figure out how it all works but it's just another sign how much older he is now.
With just a few minutes left to spare we went to explore the Star Wars launchpad exhibit. They had a movie which we had to skip but they also had many props from the Star Wars movies.
this is where my favorite thing in all the parks used to be – the Disney studio where they teach you how to draw a Disney character. Now it's been replaced by video games. Specifically Disney infinity. I was less than happy but the kids didn't mind.
they were dressed in robes and then lead over to the training facility. Evan got a green Yoda robe.
We had to get ready for dinner reservations and we were all pretty beat so we started to head home. We even found Jesus in the parking lot.
The Hoop De Doo is a campy, silly, frontier style show with singing and dancing and jokes. They urge audience participation and feed you tremendously good food. Evan liked it OK enough but Ally says it's been her favorite part of the entire trip so far. She was so bummed when it was over!
We also had fantastic seats. Not entirely sure how we pulled that off but no one here is complaining!
