After much debate, we finally decided to go to the Animal Kingdom. It is so trippy walking through these parks with perfect 80 degree weather seeing Christmas trees and garland everywhere and hearing them play Christmas Carols through the sound systems. So odd. The animal kingdom had a funky tree at the entrance filled with animals.

First we did the Kilmanjaro Safari ride to see all the animals. I forgot how bumpy this ride is - my back was killing me when we got off! I got a LOT of good pictures, but every single one was a miracle because the car never stopped and we were in the back - the bumpiest seat on the ride! Here are a few that I really liked, but don't ask me what the animals are - other than "bird" I have no idea!

Pretty tree with Birds:

Dirty Alligator:

Toothless girl:

Wild toddler - This is a very common breed on Disney property.

We did the nearby jungle walk after to see some of the behind the scenes of the ride we just took. It is so funny, our kids REALLY loved the fish.

And probably the only photo where they are all smiling and looking at me at the same time!

I swear, some of the animals must be so used to the crowd that they pose for you. This meerkat stayed on this rock forever, like a lookout. He was so stinkin' cute!

Even the gorillas don't mind being the show. This one came to sleep right up near the glass - although it literally slept with one eye open - not sure who was watching who!

And this gorilla walked by and struck a pose - it was hilarious. First one side, then the other, then he stuck out his bum and looked over his shoulder... He was beautiful and he knew it!

Next we took a train over to the petting zoo area of the park. The kids were pretty patiently waiting.

On the other side, they decided they didn't want to hold hands with the grownups anymore, and took off together.

I almost got a picture of the 3 of them... I have 10 pictures of this and in each one someone is blurry!

Along the way, they have kids activities where they can earn a stamp for solving a puzzle of some sort. Ally was so into it, and her enthusiasm got Alex into it too.

Here we met a bunch of characters. Last time we were here, my memory card went on the fritz and I lost all the pictures I took. This time I made sure to bring a good one and we got pictures with Pocahontas

Rafiki

and Jimminy Cricket. Notice that Evan and Alex aren't in any of them - yep, gave up on those guys.

Although Evan got brave after all and came up to give a hug AND a kiss.

When we finally made it out to the petting zoo, and Evan was too excited to stop and pet anything! Although he did stop to give a goat a hug - the goat wasn't sure what to do about it. Ally got a brush and was brushing the goats and the sheep. They seemed very docile and friendly.

I think the train was their favorite part - especially the boys. Our boys are obsessed with cars, buses and trains.

After a quick pizza lunch, we went to see the Lion King show. On the way there, we found some bunnies.

While we were taking bunny pictures, Evan was bonding with Grandma.

He may be a tough kid, but he is so sweet too.

I knew Evan was overtired at this point, but we took him to the show anyway. Arron had to wrestle with him until it started, but he was enthralled at first.

Then they played "Can you Feel the Love Tonight". Ally decided she wants to be a professional ballerina.

Evan decided to take a nap. :)

On the way out, we saw Lilo and Stitch. Ally was wearing her Lilo dress so we had to pose with them. And then Stitch stole my autograph book and made me jump up at his hand to get it back.... real mature... Ally laughed about it the rest of the afternoon!

We also rode on Everest (and I actually did it this time) and saw the Finding Nemo musical before closing down the park. We had never stayed this late before so I had never seen the tree lit up for the night.

All the birds were settled in the trees for the night - it was amazing!

For dinner, Ally had been begging us to take her to a restaurant she saw at Downtown Disney called TRex. Barbie and Jason offered to babysit Evan, so we took our opportunity to go. The place was amazing and so over the top. We sat at the shark bar that was all glass and lit blue.

The bar alone would have been enough entertainment....

This gives you a better idea. Behind the bar was a huge fish tank, and then around the edges of the place were different "caves" filled with dinosaurs. One cave had walls that glowed pink or blue (it changed) and every once in a while there was a meteor shower.

After we were full, we needed to walk to we meandered around the Downtown Disney area. Ally didn't remember the lego store or it's huge lego creatures outside. I just liked how sweet she was with her daddy.

And I take this same picture every year, always getting a different result. My fav, the dragon in the water. Tomorrow, back to the Magic Kingdom!
